I think that US and the EU are in a secular decline which will benefit Asia LatAm and Africa. That is, IF they manage to not embroil themselves into war and fall for another round of "divide and conquer" tactics of the West. Steps are being taken towards cooperating, most notably the BRICKs. Nonetheless we are still early on. Politics aside, the most difficult macroeconomic issues for China that currently lie ahead IMHO are very well articulated in the following interview of Russell Napier. I think it it's well worth your time.

Well before COVID the US government had decided that China's economic growth was a serious threat to them and their world order. The "retraction" is mostly a logical reaction to Trump's tariffs and Congress's manifest hostility.

Yes that's the other interpretation, that Xi's hand was forced to seek self sufficiency due to a more hostile environment

A very interesting take on China. The turn from a merchant economy, really an open ended slavery system for wall street, is coming at a time when AI, Robotics, The WEFs push for Communism in the west has come.

Wildness lies in wait. I fear we will not wait long.

She is a very experienced commentator and has seen a lot more than most first hand. I have noted her quoted extensively in Grants over the last 10 plus years but can not recall a single positive point she has made about China during that period, so not sure her coverage is fairly balanced. Lots of problems, and poor decisions but continued progress in a number of areas. There are still good places to invest in China especially in conjunction with the SOE reform programme.

It’s a typical western rant . It’s the US that’s sanctioning and being protectionist. Every U.S. company operates and thrives in China , how many Chinese companies do you see in the U.S. ? US cannot compete , is debt laden and in steep decline. CIA was caught recently spying in China and so was NEDs attempts to sow discord and destabilize Chinese society, not to mention efforts to encourage Taiwan to secede , provoking tensions in SCS. Stop this ugly fear mongering about your competitor. Are you self aware ?

Stop spamming my message boards with dozens of identical messages. One is enough to get your point across. Don't do that again.
