PAX Global, October portfolio update, Asian shipbuilding
I wrote two posts over the past week:
First, an introduction to Asia’s shipbuilding industry - a topic that’s rarely discussed on the sell-side. There are signs of life in the shipbuilding industry after a decade-long bear market. But it remains to be seen whether new tanker orders will outweigh the recent weakening in containership orders.
Second, I wrote an October portfolio update, with some movement in the portfolio due to the weakness in the Japanese yen and the recent drop in Hong Kong-listed stocks.
There are lots of rumours flying around about a potential loosening of China’s COVID-19 controls. I’m skeptical. The lockdowns will probably become fewer and fewer, but I doubt the border will open up anytime soon.
